Kruti’s magic woos children in China

Those of you who know me, or of me, know that I like magic. Heck, who doesn't like magic. This is an inspiring article I ran across while looking at an Asian website.

Beijing, August 8, 2006

India’sfirst test tube baby is creating magic, literally. Kruti Parekh, alsoIndia’s top woman magician, created an illusionary world for childrenand adults alike in China with a magic show where elephants vanishedinto thin air, people were beheaded, and paper recycled after beingeaten.
With intonations like ‘Sim Silabi Fu Fu Fu,’ Parekh, one ofthe world’s youngest and rare woman magicians, entertained children inTanjin, in north east China when she performed at the 2006International Children’s Culture and Art Festival.
I really had agood time with children in Tianjin where they enjoyed my magic shows,”Kruti said on her maiden visit to China. In the process, Kruti said shealso fulfilled one of her ambitions — to perform in China. Apart fromTianjin, she also performed in Shanghai, China’s eastern metropoliswhere the Indian community arranged a show.
“I was yearning toperform in China and Canada, the two countries where I have not got anopportunity to display my talents. Now I have fulfilled my dream ofperforming in China,” a visibly thrilled Kruti said. “I was the onlyforeign artist who was allowed to have two one-hour shows in Tianjin, which was appreciated by the audience, mostly children,” theMumbai-based magician said.
Kruti, who has just completed herengineering, successfully read the mind of three Indian diplomats, including Indian ambassador to China, Nalin Surie at a magic show heldat the Indian Embassy.
