Former Rep. Foley hiding Habeas Corpus for Republicans

As you guys know Representative Mark Foley, republican from Florida, has resigned from his post due to innappropriate conversations with an underage page.

He has since entered himself into AA, which everyone knows cures pedophelia. The day after that he annonced that he is "gay", and that he was molested by a clergyman when he was young, but isn't using that as an excuse. Should he not wish to use either of those as an excuse why he did what he did, why even announce it. Not to mention what an insult to homosexuality that comment is, he is insinuating that if you are gay, you want to have sex with young boys.

Fox news is also stating that Foley is a democrat, not only the anchors, but the type on the pictures e.g.(D-Florida).

My biggest beef with this whole issue that America is not seeing, is the Habeas Corpus act that is burried in the media. The right to habeas corpus has been a basic part of English common law, and, later, American law, since the adoption of the Magna Carta, in 1215, which established that no one could be imprisoned on the mere say-so of the king.

The founders of the United States considered habeas corpus to be such a fundamental protection against tyranny that they enshrined it in the Constitution. Congress has expanded the right to seek habeas corpus several times, and it has never tried to take the right away. To do so now would turn our backs on our fundamental principles of justice.

The Bush administration has revoked this fundamental right for the 450 or so foreigners held at Guantanamo.

Our strength as a nation is demonstrated when we treat even our worst enemies within the rule of law.

This is the loosening of the shoestrings of America, how long will it be until we trip?
